Reported investments in service activities fell by 29.6% in the first five months of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 336.2, according to the May 2023 newsletter published by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation.
The number of reported projects fell from 4001 in the first five months of 2022 to 3893 in 2023. However, the number of jobs to be created increased by 5.2% to 13,273.
Reported investments in fully exportable service activities decreased from 38.6 MD to 33.3 MD between 2022 and 2023.
Investments with foreign participation, which represent only 15% of total reported investments, went down from TND 50.6 million to TND 49.3 million. The number of projects with foreign participation also decreased from 522 to 504. These investments are expected to create 2,321 jobs, compared to 2,306 in 2022.
Investments in industry-related services, which account for 31.2% of total reported investments in services, decreased from TND 179.8 to TND 104.9 between 2022 and 2023 (5 months).
The number of industry-related projects fell from 2623 to 2389, while the number of related jobs followed the same downward trend, from 7,011 jobs in 2022 to 6,669 jobs in 2023.
