The Intergovernmental Action Group Against Money launder ing in West Africa (GIABA) will on Wednesday organise a workshop in Cotonou on t h e fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, a communiqué o f the sub-regional organization announced on Monday.
The three-day meeting is aimed at informing participants of the evolution of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, and defining measures to be taken in the future.
The criminalisation of the laundering of capital and the financing of terrorism, the vulnerability of the legal profession in the face of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, and the duty of confidentiality are among the themes that will be addressed during the meeting.
The workshop, which ends on Friday, comes in the wake of the one organised by GIABA last March in Dakar, Senegal.
