Hachani urges increased efforts to meet sectoral targets in state’s general policy

Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani stressed the need to step up efforts to achieve the sectoral objectives set out in the state’s general policy, as he chaired the meeting of the Council of Ministers on behalf of President Kais Saied at the Kasbah on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed three draft laws of an economic nature, according to a press release issued by the Prime Ministry.

The first draft law concerns the approval of the Right of First Offer (ROFO) agreement signed on April 4, 2024 between the Republic of Tunisia and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

This agreement is linked to the loan granted to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) to finance the “ELMED” electricity interconnection project between Tunisia and Italy.

The second draft law concerns the approval of the agreement signed on April 17, 2024 between Tunisia and Italy on the programme to support the Tunisian state budget.

The third draft law authorises the State to subscribe to the capital of the Tunisian-Saudi Bank.
