The 5th Libyan Oil and Gas Technology Fair (TOG2010) ope ned on Tuesday in Tripoli with the participation of some 111 companies represent i ng more than 20 countries.
The fair, organised by the Libyan Oil Institute in collaboration with the Libyan Oil Company (NOC), is on the theme “Oil and Gas Technologies for sustainable en e rgy sources and petrochemical products.”
It has also brought together, in addition to international and specialised Libya n companies, enterprises and service companies, research institutes and centres i n the oil sector.
The fair, which ends on 14 October, also includes a scientific forum, encounters of junior researchers, exhibition of oil and gas technology and workshops.
Participants will address thematics related to oil and gas processing and oil re finery, issues on the environment, such as sanitation, hydrocarbons spillage, th e ir detection and surveillance, the management of water coming from oil production and the management of pollutants and solid waste.
The fair, which was organised for the first time in 2002, has become a flagship event in the country’s oil and gas sector.
