Roundtable meeting on cultural creative industries in French-speaking countries on June 12

“Cultural Creative Industries and Creative Entrepreneurship in French-speaking countries” is the theme of a rountable meeting set to be held on June 12 in Tunis, the Directorate-General of Economic and CulturaL Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad said in a press release.

The event, held on the sidelines of the Tunisia Investment Forum, comes as the Tunisian presidency of the 18th Francophonie Summit (November 2022) is drawing to a an end and France is gearing up to the next summit in Villers-Cotterêts/Paris next October.

The theme is picked as part of the complementarity of interests of the two summits, namely the digital industry, creativity and entrepreneurship.

The rise over the recent years of major Asian and English-speaking actors in cultural creative industries and the rapid technological evolution are key challenges for French-speaking business operators but also new opportunities of cross development and exchange, stimulation of innovation, the development of human capital in the service of creation, culture and education.

An opening session and two panels followed by a debate are on the agenda. Incentives instituted for the sector, its employability as well as related training and incubation opportunities will be discussed.

Debates will be moderated by Tunis International Center for Digital Cultural Economy Director General Saloua Abdelkhalek and run by experts in cultural creative industries as well as representatives of startups and creative ecosystem actors in the French-speaking space.

The aim is to demonstrate that the digitisation of the economy and the development of IT, mainly AI, are the engine of the major transformation of cultural creative industries that can play a key role in strengthening Francophonie, deepening economic integration and better addressing the needs of enterprises in the French-speaking world.

The event is organised in collaboration with Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), the TICDCE, International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF), the French embassy and the Group of Francophone Ambassadors (GAF) chaired by the embassy of Canada.
