Officials and experts from Tunisia and several African countries will debate land degradation during an international seminar themed “Africa’s Land: Degradation and the Compelling Need for Sustainable Management.”
The event, to which Tunis will play host on June 25-26, is organised by the Environment Ministry in collaboration with the Sahara and Sahel Observatory.
It will bring together experts and researchers to discuss pressing issues in connection to land degradation in Africa and the importance of adopting sustainable management strategies.
The seminar is an opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences and spotlight joint efforts to protect lands and achieve sustainable growth in Africa.
Desertification, which affects 75% of land in Tunisia, is exarcerbated by drought and water scarcity.
