Tunisia: CI Ratings confirms ratings of 3 Tunisian banks; outlook negative

Capital Intelligence Ratings announced on Thursday that it has affirmed the long-term foreign currency rating (LT FCR) and the short-term foreign currency rating (ST FCR) of Banque Nationale Agricole (BNA) at ‘C+’ and ‘C’ respectively. The outlook on the LT FCR remains negative.

At the same time, CI Ratings confirmed BNA’s Bank Standalone Rating (BSR) at ‘c’, its Core Financial strength (CFS) at ‘b’ and its Extraordinary Support Level (ESL) of ‘Moderate’.

CI Ratings also announced Thursday that it has affirmed Banque Internationale Arabe de Tunisie’s (BIAT) long-term foreign currency rating (LT FCR) and short-term foreign currency rating (ST FCR) at ‘C+’ and ‘C’ respectively. The outlook on the LT FCR rating remains negative.

At the same time, CI Ratings affirmed BIAT’s Bank Standalone Rating (BSR) at ‘c’, its Core Financial Strength (CFS) at ‘bb-‘ and its Extraordinary Support Level (ESL) of ‘Moderate’.

The same ratings were assigned to Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI) by Capital Intelligence, with the exception of the Core Financial Strength (CFS) rating of ‘b’ and the Extraordinary Support Level (ESL) rating of ‘Uncertain’.
