Tunisia: Heavy commercial traffic at Dhehiba Wazen

Commercial traffic at the Dhehiba-Wazen border crossing remains high, in contrast to the relative decline in passenger traffic since July 1, the date of the reopening of the Ras Jedir crossing.

An official source, in a statement to Mosaïque Fm, confirmed that the units operating there have registered the daily passage of around 200 commercial lorries since March last year, and that the total number of lorries since that date has exceeded 20,000.

On the other hand, the source confirmed the decrease in the number of passengers since the reopening of the Ras Jedir crossing, where the units register the daily crossing of around 1,500 passengers and 400 tourist cars.

That number was between 4,000 and 4,500 passengers and between 1,400 and 1,500 tourist cars per day before the opening of the crossing, between 4,000 and 4,500 passengers and between 1,400 and 1,500 tourist cars per day.
