Direct insurance companies in Tunisia generated a turnover (net premiums) of 3,818 million dinars in 2024, compared to 3,445 million dinars at the end of December 2023, representing a growth of 10.8%.
According to data published by the General Insurance Committee (CGA), Non-Life Insurance accounted for 70% of insurance companies’ revenue, reaching 2,671 million dinars (+7%), while Life and Capitalization Insurance represented 30%, with 1,145 million dinars (+20.1%).
Additionally, Automobile Insurance generated a total turnover of 1,494 million dinars, compared to 1,412 million dinars in 2023, marking an increase of 5.8%.
As for Group Health Insurance, it recorded a turnover increase of 10.6%, rising to 585.9 million dinars, compared to 529.6 million dinars in 2023. Meanwhile, Fire Insurance turnover grew by 15.1% to 218.2 million dinars.
Furthermore, compensation paid by direct insurance companies reached 2,052 million dinars in 2024, compared to 1,860 million dinars in 2023, reflecting a 10.4% increase, of which 1,569 million dinars came from Non-Life Insurance.
According to CGA data, the number of reported claims increased by 2% last year, reaching 1,917,626 compared to 1,880,034 claims in 2023, including 316,551 automobile claims (+2.6%).
