Tunisia: reported investment in the industrial sector totals 1,051 million dinars in H1 2024

The number of reported projects in the industrial sector reached 1,686 projects, by the end of June 2024, with a total investment of 1,051 million dinars and 18,129 reported jobs, according to the economic bulletin for the first half of 2024 published on Monday by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

In the first half of 2024, the number of reported projects under new creations reached 1,373 projects with a total investment of 377.4 million dinars and 11,022 jobs.

The reported investment in projects other than new creation (expansion, renewal of equipment, etc.) reached 673.6 million dinars. In the first half of 2024, the number of such projects is 313 and the associated jobs reached 7,107.

In addition, reported investments in fully export-oriented industries amount to 154.4 million dinars, while those in industries with production oriented to the local market reach 896.6 million dinars, with associated jobs amounting to 15,468 in the first half of 2024 (an increase of 61%).

It is worth noting that 85% of the declared investments at the end of June 2024 are for projects that are not fully export-oriented.

According to the APII, 181 projects with foreign participation were reported in the first half of 2024 (111 projects 100% foreign and 70 projects in partnership), mobilizing investments of around 258 million dinars and favoring the creation of 6,266 jobs.

As for reported Tunisian investments in the industrial sector, they represent an amount of 793 million dinars. The number of declared projects reached 1,505, contributing to the creation of 11,863 jobs.
