Saudi Arabia will contribute by 180 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) to fund the power plant project in Sousse.
A financing agreement was signed Tuesday, September 25, 2012, between Riadh Bettaieb, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and Youssef Bin Ibrahim, Director General of the Saudi Fund for Development.
Through this project, Tunisia seeks to meet the country’s demand for electricity which has increased annually by 5%, according to Bettaieb.
This project also aims to improve the quality of services and reduce power cut and this through the extension of the power station in Sousse in order to increase its current production capacity by 400 Megawatt.
