The Société de Fabrication des Boissons de Tunisie (SFBT) has published its figures for the first half of the year. These show a total turnover of 367 million dinars compared with 357.5 million a year ago, an increase of 3%.
This increase was mainly due to a 5% rise in local beer sales, from 227.4 million dinars to 238.5 million dinars.
Local sales of soft drinks also went up by 7% to 99.2 million dinars from 92.6 million dinars a year earlier.
In terms of volume, SFBT sold 70.2 million liters of beer in the first six months of the current year, compared with 71.9 million liters in the same period last year, a decline of 2.5%.
Beer production fell from 79 million liters to 74.2 million liters, a decrease of 6%.
Investments during the period amounted to 13 million dinars and consisted mainly of the purchase of returnable packaging (crates and bottles).
