The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) announced in a press release that it has started since the end of March, natural gas supply operations from the Nawara field in Tataouine Sahara.
This field will produce 2.7 million m3 of gas, i.e. half of the domestic production and 17% of the national consumption.
It will also produce 7 thousand barrels of condensate per day.
The Tunisian government is counting on this project to reduce the country’s energy deficit by 30% and thereby narrow the country’s energy dependence and the import of gas from abroad.
