Tunisia tenders to buy 200,000 tons of soft and durum wheat

Tunisia’s state grain agency has launched an international tender to buy around 100,000 tons of soft milling wheat and around 100,000 tons of durum wheat, European traders were quoted as saying by Reuters on Wednesday.

Origin was optional. The deadline for submitting price offers for the tender is Thursday, December 19.

The wheat and durum are both being sought in four 25,000-tonne shipments for delivery in 2025 between January 15 and February 25, depending on the origin supplied.

Traders said the tender made no mention of payment by external agencies. Several tenders in recent months have been financed by the World Bank and other agencies helping Tunisia with its recent financial difficulties.

In its last reported tender on November 27, Tunisia’s state grain agency bought around 100,000 tons of soft wheat and around 100,000 tons of durum after seeking offers for the same volume.
