Minister of Environment Habib Abid announced on Monday that a budget of TND 20 million has been allocated for the year 2025 to encourage investment in the environmental sector.
Speaking at a meeting at Ennahli Park on the Ministry’s Ecological Transition Action Program, Abid pointed out that the committee will work to prepare a roadmap for the implementation of the National Ecological Transition Strategy and implement an action plan in this field during the next period.
He added that this strategy aims to achieve sustainable development, optimize the sound management of natural resources and protect ecosystems.
The Minister highlighted the efforts made to facilitate the remote reception of applications from investors in this sector, in order to guarantee justice and transparency.
In fact, he said, the Ministry has adopted a program of actions in this area to facilitate investment procedures and the completion of projects, in addition to cancelling certain authorizations and replacing them with specifications.
In this context, he mentioned the enormous job opportunities offered by the ecological and environmental sector, especially in the fields of waste recovery and recycling, the digital environment and the creation of green spaces.
The event also provided an opportunity to discuss the various environmental problems and investment opportunities in the circular, blue and green economy, and to encourage young people and start-ups to invest in this field.
The map of Tunisian beaches and the new vision for their management were also presented.
