A 30-seater plane that was about to take off from the Ak anu Ibiam airport in Nigeria’s South-eastern city of Enugu had to be quickly eva c uated on Sunday, as one of the engines caught fire, sending thick smoke into the
cabin, the local press reported Monday.
The Capital Airlines’ plane, carrying 26 passengers and four crew members, was a bout to take off for the capital city of Abuja when the fire broke out, forcing p assengers to jump off after the exit doors were opened, with some of them sustai n ing injuries.
Fire fighters at the airport quickly mobilised to put off the fire.
