The Microcred has just expanded its network of customers by opening its second agency in the governorate of Ben Arous.
The second agency comes after that of the locality of Ezzahrouni in the west of Tunis, opened in December 2014. The inauguration took place on Thursday in the presence of regulators, representatives of its partners and its first customers.
Microcred Tunisia is a subsidiary of an international group (which has over 2,300 employees and operations in eight countries: France, Madagascar, Senegal, China, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Mali and Tunisia).
Microcred’s mission is to provide accessible and quality financial services as well as support tailored to people excluded or underserved by the traditional financial system, particularly to micro and small enterprises and unemployed young project leaders.
The objective of Microcred Tunisia is to improve the living conditions of its clients and their families and contribute to the economic and regional development of Tunisia.
Microcred Tunisia started its operational activities in November 3, 2014 after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Economy and Finance on October 3, 2014. The European Union was the first institutional partner to support this initiative by providing a grant of $ 1.8 million.
In its development plan, Microcred plans to cover all the governorates of Greater Tunis before the end of the year before reaching in the future the country’s inland regions.
