The Airports Council International Africa (ACI Africa) has awarded Level 4 Carbon Accreditation for the year 2024 to Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, operated by TAV Airports Holding, in recognition of its diligent efforts in managing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, TAV Tunisia elaborated that this accreditation represents a significant achievement, underscoring Enfidha Airport’s commitment to environmental stewardship through efficient energy use. The aim is to reduce O2 emissions and their environmental impact, thus elevating it to the status of a “sustainable airport of the future.”
Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport had previously attained Levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as Level 3+ in airport carbon certification in the years 2013, 2014, 2021, and 2023, respectively.
This was earned through a series of initiatives implemented by the airport, notably a comprehensive assessment of its carbon footprint, the adoption of energy-saving measures via a tri-generation power plant, and a steadfast promotion of low-emission transportation options.
