CEPEX: one third of events organised in 2024 target African market

One-third of events and meetings scheduled by the Export Promotion Centre (French: CEPEX) for 2024 target the African market, CEO Mourad Ben Hassine said. Tunisian products are in high demand in this fast-growing market.

In the runup to the Tunisia-Africa Business Meetings (TABM), due July 2-3 in Tunis, the Centre has scheduled 74 activities, including trade fairs and events, Ben Hassine told TAP in an interview at its TV Studio.

The African market is better known for the organisation of business meetings than trade fairs and specialised events, he added. The TABM are an opportunity to scale up cooperation.

CEPEX has 16 representative offices abroad, six of which are in sub-Saharan Africa, said the official. New destinations are targeted.

CEPEX, the official added, opened an office in Dakar, Senegal – the 6th in Africa, and organised the Tunisia-Senegale Business Meetings which attracted over 60 companies and helped seal several partnerships.

The African market is full of potential, especially as it posts a high growth rate which encourages Tunisian companies to capture segments.

The Trade Ministry and CEPEX are cooperating with Tunisia’s diplomatic offices in African countries to ease access of Tunisian companies to African markets.

CEPEX has set up business parks in the Ghanaian market, which has been explored in recent years.
