The number of reported industrial projects was up by 5.7% between 2023 and 2024 (first 5 months), with a total investment of TND 951 million and 15,828 reported jobs, the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) announced on Friday.
The number of new reported projects were up by 14.2% compared with the same period last year, according to indicators for the first five months of 2024 released by the APII.
The 100% foreign investment intentions in the industry increased by 19.9%, to TND 152.9 million, while the reported Tunisian investments in the industrial sector reached TND 718.3 million.
The number of projects reported by national companies totalled 1,302, compared with 1,166 in the first five months of 2023 (up 11.7%). These projects are expected to create 10,597 jobs.
Reported investments in service activities grew by 41.2% to TND 474.6 million.
The number of reported projects rose to 5,199 (up 33.5%), while the number of jobs to be created is expected to reach 15,272 (up 15.1%).
