Senegal: Islamic Development Bank organises regional forum in Dakar

Experts from 17 African countries are taking part in a regional forum here Tuesday organised by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), under the chairmanship of the Senegalese Prime Minister Aminata Toure.

Senegal’s Economy and Finance Ministry said the forum would make it possible “to take stock of the activities carried out by the IDB…in the member countries and non-member countries, to identify the problems encountered and to participate in the planning of a new ten-year strategy”.

On the sidelines of the forum, being held within the framework of the celebrations of IDB’s 40th anniversary, bank Chairman Ahmad Mohamed Ali and Senegal’s Economy and Finance Minister Amadou Bâ will sign a loan agreement for 35 billion CFA franc (US$53 million) to finance several projects, including the one to clean up the north of Dakar.
