Togo: Wold Bank approves US$14 million for Togo’s economic growth

The World Bank has approved a loan, worth US$14 million (about CFAF7billion), for Togo to enable the West African country carry out its economic growth and efforts at good governance, official sources told PANA here Thursday.

The loan is meant for the country’s agriculture, energy, mining, telecommunications and banking industries.

It is also meant for the enhancement of transparency in the management of the public finances and the promotion of the economic governance in Togo.

The latest figure is the World bank’s sixth financial support for Togo since 2008 when both parties resumed cooperation following years of frozen relationship.
