The city of Tunis has climbed nine places in the 2024 ranking of the world’s most expensive cities for expats, according to the latest rankings published by HR services firm Mercer.
In 2023, it ranked 219th in the world’s top ten least expensive cities for expatriates. In 2024, it climbs to 210th place.
However, the cost of living remains lower than in other major European capitals. Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin are ranked 29th, 30th and 31st respectively.
Hong Kong remains the world’s most expensive city for foreign workers, according to an annual ranking published on Monday by human resources firm Mercer. Brussels ranks 37th, according to the same source.
