The Hello Safe Prosperity Index, a global economic barometer that ranks 186 nations according to six fundamental criteria, has just released its 2024 ranking.
This measurement tool takes into account GDP per capita, Gross National Income per capita, Gross National Savings ratio, Human Development Index, Gini coefficient and poverty rate.
At the Maghreb level, the results reveal a particular economic hierarchy between the countries of the region.
Algeria stands out among the Maghreb countries with a score of 40.36 points on the Hello Safe Prosperity Index. This performance puts it not only ahead of its Maghreb neighbors, but also third in the African ranking.
The country owes this position to a number of positive economic factors, including relative macroeconomic stability and favorable human development indicators.
Tunisia ranks second among the Maghreb countries. Ranked sixth in Africa, Tunisia maintains an intermediate position, reflecting its economic development efforts.
Morocco completes the Maghreb trio, ranking eighth in Africa with a score of 30.02 points.
This ranking highlights the differences in economic development between these three countries, despite their geographical proximity.
