Tunisia: 50,000 tons of sugar and 2,300 tons of coffee to arrive soon

The Director General of Internal Trade, Bessma Trabelsi, has confirmed that the Tunisian Trade Office (Office du Commerce) is in the process of building up stocks of strategic products.

She pointed in a statement to the daily Echourouk to the arrival of around 50,000 tons of sugar by the end of next month that will support the current stock, estimated at 10,000 tons, according to her.

The official also confirmed the arrival of ten shipments of coffee between this week and the end of August, stating that these shipments amount to 2,300 tons, noting that weekly consumption is estimated at 500 tons.

On another level, the official of the Ministry of Trade spoke of “popular” cars, indicating that 10,000 of them should be on the market by 2025, stressing the commitment of the Ministry to promote the participation of car dealers in this program, which aims to enable the acquisition of a new car at preferential prices compared to other types of car, she said.
