The value of food wasted in Tunisia in 2021 amounted to 900 million dinars, said Zoubir Rabah, Director of Studies and Research at the National Institute of Consumption.
Speaking on Mosaique FM, he explained that impulsive buying behaviors and attractive promotional offers are identified as key factors contributing to this phenomenon.
Rabah pointed to the lack of planning for actual needs during shopping, particularly in large commercial spaces where consumers are faced with a multitude of enticing offers.
