The Banque de Tunisie (BT) has published its interim financial statements as at June 30, 2024. These statements show a net profit of 81.2 million dinars, compared with 76.4 million dinars at the end of June 2023, an increase of around 6.2%.
In the first half of the current year, the bank generated operating income of 439.5 million dinars, compared with 391.8 million dinars a year earlier, an increase of 12%.
Operating expenses rose from 164.8 million dinars to 180.4 million dinars, up 9.5%.
As a result, net banking income (NBI) for the period was 259 million dinars, compared to 227 million dinars in the first half of last year, an increase of approximately 14%.
In addition, outstanding customer deposits and assets reached 6.1 billion dinars at the end of June, compared with 5.8 billion dinars at 31 December 2023, while outstanding customer loans amounted to 6 billion dinars, compared with 5.82 billion dinars.
