Tunisia: BH Bank announces 30% increase in H1 net profit

BH Bank has just published its interim financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024. These accounts show a net profit of 77.6 million dinars, compared with 59 million dinars a year earlier, an increase of 31%.

The Bank recorded income from banking operations of 719.3 million dinars compared to 679.5 million dinars in the previous year. Operating expenses increased from 366.7 million dinars to 356.6 million dinars.

As a result, net banking income (NBI) for the period went up by 16% to 362.6 million dinars from 312.8 million dinars a year earlier.

However, there was a significant increase in risk costs, with allocations to loan loss provisions rising by 18.5% from 77.7 million dinars to 92.1 million dinars.

Similarly, personnel expenses amounted to 95.5 million dinars at the end of June, compared to 88.9 million dinars at the end of the first six months of 2023.

As a result, operating profit increased by 21% to 121.2 million dinars, compared to 99.8 million dinars at the end of June 2008.
