Carthage Cement accelerated its growth rate during the second quarter of 2024, compared to the first quarter.
This positive momentum resulted in revenues of 212 million dinars as of 30 June 2024, up 2% compared to the same period last year.
At the end of the first half of 2024, the total turnover of Carthage Cement’s cement business amounted to 196 million dinars, compared to 190 million dinars at 30 June 2023, an increase of 3.5%.
This growth is the result of a 10% increase in local sales, despite a 30% decrease in export revenues, mainly due to the company’s decision to suspend clinker exports.
As a result, Carthage Cement maintained its market share of 26% in a difficult sector.
The aggregates business was able to maintain its turnover at 11.6 million dinars as at 30 June, up 3% on the same period last year.
At the end of the first half, sales in the concrete business were down 36% to 4.6 million dinars, compared to 7.2 million dinars in the same period last year.
In the first half of 2024, investments totaled 12.5 million dinars, while outstanding debt amounted to 340.5 million dinars, down 8% compared to June 30, 2023.
