Chakib Ben Mustapha, a member of the executive board of the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT) stated that the challenge for 2025 lies in achieving growth and investment.
In a statement to Mosaïque FM on the sidelines of a national forum titled “Governance and Its Impact on the Sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs),” he noted that the closure of hundreds of SMEs is a normal phenomenon that has recurred throughout Tunisia’s history, as these closures are offset by the opening of a larger number of new businesses.
In this regard, he emphasized that one of the main proposals for addressing the challenges faced by this category of businesses is governance, as it represents the driving force and primary condition for the success of Tunisia’s economic fabric.
He added that the mechanisms for implementing governance exist through laws, which in most cases are not enforced, such as the publication of periodic reports by the Higher Council of Investment.
