Tunisia: consumption of petroleum products drops by 59% in April

The National Observatory of Energy and Mines, under the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Energy Transition, published its newsletter on the impact of the Coronavirus crisis on energy demand in Tunisia during the month of April.

For petroleum products, consumption fell by -59% in April 2020 compared to the same month in 2019, after a decline of -21% last March.

The monthly demand for industrial fuel oil went down by 90%, diesel by 63% and petrol by 60%.

On the other hand, the demand for LPG, used mainly in the residential sector, increased by 5%.

As a result of the Jet aviation consumption and the closure of the airspace, it has become almost nil (-99.9%).

Consumption of natural gas fell by -48% for end users and -16% for electricity generation.

For natural gas, consumption dropped 48% for end users and -16% for electricity generation.
