Tunisia: External debt service amounts to about TND 10 billion

External debt service was close to 10 billion dinars on August 20, 2024, compared with 6.8 billion dinars a year earlier, representing an increase of 46.5%, according to monetary and financial indicators published on Wednesday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Tourism revenues increased by 6.7%, from 4.2 billion dinars on August 20, 2023 to 4.5 billion dinars, currently.

The same is true of workers’ remittances, which stood at 5 billion dinars, a slight increase of 2.7% compared with the same period last year.

Net foreign exchange reserves decreased slightly to 25.3 billion dinars (equivalent to 115 days of imports) on August 28, compared to 26.4 billion dinars (114 days of imports) a year earlier.
