Tunisia’s exports in the textile and clothing sector had reached TND 4.2 billion in value terms by the end of May 2023.
According to figures presented by the CEO of the Centre for the Promotion of Exports (CEPEX) on July 5, Tunisia’s exports in this sector reached TND 9.1 billion in 2022, an increase of 20.1%.
A one-day meeting was held at CEPEX on Tuesday to discuss the obstacles and difficulties faced by Tunisian textile and clothing exporters.
Tunisia’s textile and clothing sector accounts for 16% of the country’s exports. The sector is made up of 1,425 companies, 30% of which are full exporters, and employs around 145,000 people.
The CEPEX CEO said trade meetings will be held from October 10 to 12, in the presence of a delegation of buyers from Italy, Poland and the Netherlands.
