Tunisia: Hammamet to host First Forum of African Medical Tourism

The first Forum of African Medical Tourism to be held on March 28 and 29 in Hammamet was the center of a press conference on Monday in Tunis.

During the forum, emphasis will be placed on the quality of medical services in Tunisia, promoting medical tourism and opening up to other countries including Africa, Bouraoui Kotti, specialist in cosmetic surgery said.

It will discuss the problems of the medical tourism sector and introduce new strategies and appropriate recommendations to address relevant gaps, he added.

More than 60 Tunisian and foreign participants will attend the meeting and present their products and medical services.

The first African medical tourism forum will address several issues related to medical tourism, including «medical tourism in the world and in Tunisia, » thalassotherapy and hydrotherapy,” “learned societies and medical tourism,” “certification, accreditation and insurance» «Can we set up a health services export strategy?” And “Africa: a forgotten ally.”

An exhibition and several workshops are also on the agenda of the forum, the first of its kind to be hosted by Tunisia.
