Tunisia: outstanding public debt rises 12% to TND 102.8 billion at end November

The outstanding public debt grew 12% to 102.8 billion dinars until end November 2021, in comparison with 91. 8 billion dinars in the same period in 2020, it emerges from the State budget implementation document released by the Finance Ministry Thursday.

Domestic debt surged 31.3% to 40.9 billion dinars, while external debt rose 2% to 61.8 billion dinars.

Public debt servicing edged up 17.01% until end November 2021, compared to the same period one year earlier, to 12.4 billion dinars. It is shared out as follows: domestic debt servicing (5.2 billion dinars) and external debt servicing (7.3 billion dinars).

The repayment of the principal of the debt jumped 24.23% to 8.9 billion dinars by end November. This includes domestic debt to the tune of 3.1 billion dinars and external debt up to 5.8 billion dinars.

Interest on debt (3.5 billion dinars up to late November 2021) is as follows: 2 billion dinars for domestic debt and 1.5 billion dinars for external debt.
