Tunisia seeks to raise value of automotive component exports to 13.5 billion dinars by 2027

Tunisia plans through the Public / Private Partnership Pact for the competitiveness of the automotive components industry in Tunisia by 2027 to increase the value of the industry’s exports to 13.5 billion dinars and create 150 thousand jobs with the doubling of the rate of supervision.

This pact was the subject of a meeting held Wednesday between the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Neila Nouira Gonji and a delegation of the Tunisian Association of automotive components.

It highlights the need to better position in the international value chain in the field of automotive components through increasing the value of exports.

The draft pact that will be submitted to the government for approval is composed of 5 main areas, namely infrastructure, logistics, legislative framework, research and development, employment, training and promotion of Tunisia’s image abroad, it was added.

It aims to attract a world leader in electric vehicle industry, in addition to globally renowned companies in the automotive components of first class with high technological content, it was noted.

The automotive components sector in Tunisia includes more than 280 industrial companies, including 140 foreign-holding and 65% fully exporting, representing nearly 90 thousand jobs.
