Tunisia: UBCI improves its NBI by 5% to 235 million dinars at end of September

UBCI’s operating income reached 383.6 million dinars at the end of September, up 12% compared to September 30, 2023.

Operating expenses amounted to 148 million dinars, an increase of 25.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. This change is due to the 26.3% increase in interest and similar expenses.

As a result, net banking income at the end of the third quarter of the current year amounted to 235.6 million dinars, an increase of 4.9% compared to the end of September 2023.

Operating expenses grew 9.1% compared to the same period in 2023, driven by a 5.8% increase in personnel expenses and a 17.5% rise in general operating expenses.

In addition, customer loans outstanding (net of provisions and reserved agios) increased by 155.7 million dinars to 3,061 million dinars, representing a positive variation of 5.3%.

Customer deposits totaled 3,707 million dinars at September 30, 2024, compared to 3,280 million dinars at the end of September 2023, representing a positive change of 13%, including an increase of 15.2% in demand deposits and 10.8% in savings deposits.
