Tunisia, 12th most indebted country to IMF with outstanding debt of $2 billion

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), on January 24, updated the list of countries most indebted to the Fund. There are 94 countries in the world that owe the institution a total of 111.5 billion SDRs, equivalent to 150.6 billion dollars.

Regarding Tunisia, the amount owed to the IMF is 1,525 million SDRs, equivalent to 2,060 million dollars. With this outstanding amount, Tunisia ranks 12th among the countries most indebted to the Fund.

With an outstanding amount of $44.2 billion, Argentina is by far the most indebted country to the IMF. The Latin American country is followed by Egypt, which has an outstanding debt of $18.1 billion. Ukraine completes the top three with an outstanding debt of $10.3 billion.

Morocco ranks 13th with an outstanding debt of $2 billion, followed by Jordan and Ghana with outstanding debts of $2 billion and $1.7 billion respectively.
