Remittances from Tunisians resident abroad reached 5,973 million dinars, at the end of the first nine months of the current year, an increase of 152 million dinars (+2.6%) compared with the same period last year.
In euro terms, remittances amounted to €1,770 million at the end of September 2024 (average monthly rate for the first nine months of 2024: 1 euro = 3.3734 dinars).
The capital transferred by the Tunisian diaspora thus exceeds the income Tunisia received from tourism during the same period.
In fact, according to the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), tourism receipts reached 5,597 million dinars at the end of September, up 366 million dinars compared to 2023.
Expressed in euros, these receipts amount to 1,660 million dinars.
