Société Chimique ALKIMIA has published its consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023, which will be submitted for approval at the Annual General Meeting on August 28, 2024.
ALKIMIA is making losses. In 2023, the group recorded a net loss of 40 million dinars, compared to a deficit of 24.7 million dinars in the previous year. This brings the group’s cumulative losses (including the 2023 result) to 185 million dinars.
This underperformance is due to the combined effect of lower revenues and a sharp increase in net financial expenses.
The Group recorded revenues of approximately 187.7 million dinars compared to 253.8 million dinars in 2022, a decrease of 26%, mainly due to the 34% decrease in STPP revenues, which amounted to 97 million dinars compared to 147 million dinars in the previous year.
Operating expenses fell by 25% from 262.4 million dinars in December 2022 to 196 million dinars last December.
As a result, the operating result was virtually unchanged from the previous year at -8.3 million dinars.
In addition, net financial expenses increased by 71% to 31.2 million dinars in 2023, compared to 18.2 million dinars in 2022.
