Crossings by Algerians into Tunisia have seen a notable increase this year, particularly at border posts in the governorate of Jendouba.
In a statement to AfricanManager on Thursday, February 26, regional tourism delegate, Issa Marouani, said that the number of Algerian tourists entering through the border post from January 1 to February 25, 2026, reached 131,169.
The official noted that this strong influx has had a very positive impact on revitalizing economic and tourism activity, adding that efforts are continuing by the Ministry of Tourism and industry professionals to ensure Algerian visitors are welcomed under the best possible conditions, as always.
It should be recalled that in 2025, more than four million Algerian tourists visited Tunisia, a figure that rose sharply compared with previous years. However, the country’s hotel sector has not fully benefited from this strong momentum.
Tunisia remains the preferred international destination for Algerian tourists, who also top the ranking of foreign visitors to the country.
