Acting President Jonathan takes full charge of Nigeria’s Power ministry

Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, is to take char ge of Nigeria’s Power sector as the substantive Minister of Power, according to a press statement from his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ima Nibo r o.

According to Niboro, in taking over the Power Ministry, Dr. Jonathan will work w ith a new team which will be announced soon.

The new team, he said, will work with the Power sub-committee of the Presidentia l Advisory Council, headed by Professor Barth Nnaji.

According to Niboro, â?Yes, the Acting President is to take charge of Power. A new Power team is to be put in place shortly, which will work with the Prof Bart h Nnaji-led Power sub-committee of the Presidential Advisory Council.

“The Acting President is to chair this body, with the Minister of State (Power) as the Deputy chair. The body is to be made up experts in the different areas of

Power, from generation to transmission, distribution and finance.â?

In another development, Niboro said that the ministers for Water Resources and H ealth would be announced when the two Ministerial nominees from Ebonyi and Tara b a States, which has been forwarded to the Senate, are confirmed and sworn in.
