Bahrain poised to become regional hub for the energy workforce

Bahrain is poised to become a major hub for developing regional capability in the energy industry, according to Edutech, a leading provider of educational solutions and services.
With the country’s gas production expected to climb to 15 billion cubic metres (bcm) by 2014 to 2016, and projection that the country will account for 0.39 per cent of Middle East regional oil demand by 2013, energy companies are taking strides in developing a more competent workforce.
In line with its support for Bahrain’s vision, Edutech brings to the kingdom ‘DSS-100 Dynamic Simulator System’ and ‘Industrial Technologies Curriculum’, two cutting-edge solutions focused on the teaching and training needs of the oil, gas and petrochemicals sector.
“We support Bahrain’s efforts to build a fully skilled and efficient national workforce and our awareness initiatives for technology-driven science solutions are specifically designed to provide a link to the chain of knowledge by educating the new batch of professionals,” says ASF Karim, CEO, Edutech.
“In line with this, we are constantly seeking opportunities to showcase the importance of technology-powered solutions and their potential to further boost competency levels across upstream, midstream and downstream operations in the kingdom,” he says.

Another high-impact eLearning tool for the Oil and Gas sector is ‘Industrial Technologies Curriculum’, a dynamic, comprehensive training solution designed to take the learner through the academic learning process to hands-on and on-site training. The solution covers all major disciplines including industrial maintenance, industrial electricity, management, safety, soft skills and oil and gas production, among others.
