The Gafsa Phosphate Company (French: CPG) shipped in Q1 940,000 tonnes of phosphate to its local customers, including the Tunisian Chemical Group and the Tunisian-Indian Fertilisers Company, the Central Director of Production told TAP on Sunday.
Phosphate transportation by rail to customers in Gabès and Skhira resumed at an increasing pace, notably after the re-opening in March of the railway line No. 15 which links Kef Eddour washing plant to Metlaoui.
In Q1 of 2022 and after the re-opening of the railway line, the official said, the number of trains transporting phosphate to processing plants rose from 59 in January to 111 in March.
The volume of marketable phosphate transported bu railway posted an uopward trend, jumping from 63,000 tonnes in January to 112,000 tonnes in March.
