“The financing needs by loan resources in 2024 will amount to TND 28,188 billion, whereas a year earlier the amount of public borrowing undertaken by the State stood at TND 18,900 billion,” indicated the Tunisian Institute for Competitiveness and Quantitative Studies (ITCEQ) on Saturday in its “Economic Dashboard for the 1st quarter of 2023.”
Actually, according to these statistics, the financing needs by loan resources will see a 49% increase, in one year margin (2024 compared to 2023).
The ITCEQ pointed out that these loan resources for the current year “are divided between domestic loans worth TND 11.743 billion and external loans (TND 16.445 billion).
“For the first three months of the current year, the State called in 62% of the amount of scheduled domestic borrowing and only 2% for external borrowing,” the Institute said.
The grant resources allocated to the State, standing at TND 530.8 million at the end of March 2024, “are intended to support the country in its economic recovery and investment development programme,” the ITCEQ added.
