FOPRODEX grants subsidies faster and easier

In 2024, the Export Promotion Fund (FOPRODEX) granted subsidies worth 57.4 million dinars to 545 companies, compared with 51.6 million dinars to 532 companies in 2023.

By the end of December 2024, the fund had processed 3,110 applications, compared with 2,432 in 2023, an increase of 27.9%, according to the 2024 balance sheet of the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) published on Monday.

The year was also marked by a significant reduction in the time taken to process applications, which now takes no more than 6 days, speeding up the processing and settlement of grant applications.

In 2024, CEPEX carried out a total of 73 promotional activities, compared to 57 in 2023.

These activities include Tunisia’s participation in international fairs and exhibitions, business missions, trade days, prospecting missions abroad and buyer visits to Tunisia.

In 2024, the national program of trade promotion activities abroad included 34 events covering various economic sectors, including 11 prospective participations in new sectors.

256 Tunisian companies benefited from this program and exhibited their products and services in national pavilions covering a total surface area of 3044 m².

Tunisia’s presence was targeted at 17 international markets spread over the continents of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. In 2024, CEPEX launched Regional Export Morning s, monthly awareness-raising and information meetings dedicated to districts under the slogan “The regions export”.

The regional dimension

Four regional meetings have been held on topics relating to the development of the export potential of Tunisian companies in the various regions. This initiative is in line with the Centre’s desire to open up to regional business circles in order to better understand their concerns and specific needs in order to access promising new markets.

It also aims to support effective communication with companies in order to strengthen the position of Tunisian products and services on international markets and improve access opportunities.

The CEPEX has also overseen the finalization, in 2024, of the development of a new electronic portal which will be launched at the beginning of 2025. This tool aims to improve the efficiency of the services offered to exporters and importers, while introducing new functionalities designed to support and boost their international activities.

For the first time in its history, the Export Promotion Fund (FOPRODEX) has invested 73.4 million dinars to finance its activities in 2022.

60% of this financing went to 25 companies out of a total of 613, according to the same source, which reports a 73.5% increase in the number of requests for support and financing received by the Fund in 2022.

In 2022, FOPRODEX organized 47 promotional activities, including participation in trade fairs and exhibitions and missions by business people inside and outside the country.

More than 400 companies (437) operating in the agriculture, agri-food, textile-clothing, services and mechanical and electrical industries took part in these activities, which targeted 18 markets (European, Arab and African).

The Export Promotion Fund FOPRODEX is a special treasury fund financed by the Ministry of Finance under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade and managed by CEPEX.

Financial support from FOPRODEX is granted to eligible private operators (resident and approved).
