Leading logistics provider, Globe Express Services (GES), has announced that it has completed a Dh35 million ($9.53 million) development project consisting of an industrial warehouse and accompanying office in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
This further expands its supply chain solutions covering warehousing and packing services, specialty handling and lifecycle management, a statement from the company said.
The strategically located GES warehouse and office facility has an internal area of 67,449 sq ft with six loading doors and around 4,780 pallet locations.
The warehouse, which will commence operations tomorrow (July 31), is equipped with advanced warehousing security system and facility monitoring tools such as indoor and outdoor camera systems, digital video recorders and high-resolution IP cameras.
It also provides a wide range of added-value services for clients, including easy access to perform their own stock inquiries or track the status of an order, which significantly minimises the time spent on such tasks.
Ziad Korban, CEO of Globe Express Services (Overseas Group), said: “Our investments to build the Jebel Ali warehouse and office facility is a major step to serve our customers better and offer a much wider variety of supply chain solutions.”
“It will strongly reinforce Globe Express Services’ stature as a premier logistics company and maintain our position among the world’s top 100 logistics providers. The warehouse is strategically positioned with its roadside location and an expansive yard that provides excellent external circulation.”
“The timely completion of this project underlines the company’s total commitment to be responsive to evolving customer requirements and maintain the high level of quality of our services,” Korban added.
The new warehouse offers warehousing and packing services covering container loading and unloading, short-term and long-term storage, consolidation, transloading, crating, packing, scan guns, placards and radio frequency relays.
It also features specialty handling services including full service solutions for dry cargo, heavy equipment teardowns and equipment dismantling, safe rooms for storage of high-value goods and hallmarking services, on-site packing for oversized, sensitive or heavy cargo, and RoRo (Roll-on/roll-off) equipment.
GES will also offer lifecycle management at its Jebel Ali facility, providing a world-class warehouse management system (WMS) with open architecture and easy data integration, inbound (receiving), inventory control and accuracy (cycle counting), pick and pack, load planning, customizable UCC shipping labels, and outbound (shipping).
