The guarantee mechanism for credits granted by banks to enterprises affected by the coronavirus pandemic will come into effect this week, Finance Minister Mohamed Nizar Yaiche said.
In a statement to TAP, the minister indicated that the total amount of credits available to these enterprises has been increased from 500 to 1,500 million dinars.
This mechanim is initiated by the Finance Ministry, jointly with the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), the Tunisian Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions (APTBEF) and the Tunisian Guarantee Company (SOTUGAR).
These stakeholders agreed to facilitate the credit-granting procudures and to speed up the examination of application files, the minister pointed out.
The recipient enterprises are called to preserve jobs and guarantee their employees’ rights, according to the same source.
