Progress in implementation of reform programmes discussed with AFDB

Finance Minister Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia stressed Tunisia’s determination to press ahead with the implementation of its reform programmes during her meeting with a delegation from the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Friday.

These reforms are based on national guidelines and priorities that reflect the aspirations of Tunisians, particularly in terms of economic and financial stability, promoting growth, improving the business climate, creating jobs and strengthening the social role of the state, she said.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the Minister to provide the members of the delegation with an overview of the main economic and financial indicators.

She highlighted Tunisia’s ability to withstand successive crises, in particular the health crisis, geopolitical conflicts and climate change, and said that despite the growing challenges and pressure on financial balances, Tunisia had met its internal and external commitments.

The Minister expressed her satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the financing of development projects.

She stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Tunisia and the AfDB in terms of solidity and diversification.
