South Africa: Pretoria represented at Bangkok business summit

A South African business delegation is attending the Outward Selling and Investment Mission in Bangkok, Thailand.

The objective of the event is to create market access for South African value-added products, and services to enter Asian markets, and profile South Africa as an investment destination of choice.

The choice of these two countries is informed by the Pretoria’s diversification strategy which aims to leverage market opportunities and ensure that South Africa’s exports to dynamic high growth markets are facilitated.

The delegation is participating in various business-to-business meetings, site visits and trade and investment seminars.

Mbulelo Singapi, a member of the South African delegation, said he has met key decision makers.

Total trade between Thailand and South Africa was US$310 million in 2013, with a trade balance of US$220 million in favour of Thailand. The event ends on Wednesday.
